This class is for web developers and advanced web designers who want to start moving their static sites to the WordPress content management system. Students will learn the PHP/mySQL backend that runs all WordPress sites, how to convert a CSS layout to a WordPress Theme, creating and installing javascript plugins and connecting to shopping carts from WordPress.

WordPress for Developers Level 1 (6 hours)
DAY 1 Installing and updating a local copy of WordPress for testing. How the WordPress loop works in detail. Preparing existing site for conversion to WordPress, 4 ways to convert a site.
DAY 2 Creating Themes for fun and profit.
WordPress for Developers Level 2 (6 hours)
DAY 1 JQuery plugins for WordPress: installing, using, modifying and creating.
DAY 2 Choosing and installing shopping carts. Preparing content for WordPress based stores and shopping sites.
