Audience
Adobe After Effects series is for the student looking to gain a broad understanding of After Effects from the basics of keyframing to the warping of time and the instant creation of lightning. Basic knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and a non-linear editing software is helpful, but not required. Students should have at least a basic understanding of the way video works.

After Effects Series Level 1 (6 hours)
Day 1:
Getting to Know the Workflow, Working with Resolution, Getting to Know the Work Area, Setting Up Your Project, Importing Footage, Modifying Properties, Working with Text & Creating Shapes
Day 2:
Basic Animation, Keyframing Overview, Modifying Properties Over Time & Using Preset Animation
After Effects Series Level 2 (6 hours)
Day 1:
Basic Animation, Multiple Property Animation, Precomposing, Using the Anchor Point, Adding and Modifying Effects, Selecting Effects, Animating Effects, Effect Order, Masks, Additive and Subtractive, Animating Masks & Transitional Use
Day 2:
Animating Text, Using Presets, 3D Per Character Animation, Text on a Path, Track Mattes, Blend Modes, Rendering Options, Export vs. Render & Queue Discussion of codecs
After Effects Series Level 3 (6 hours)
Day 1:
Using Parents, Advanced Animation Exercises, Parenting with Precomposing, Adding Audio, Wiggler Tool, Randomizing your Animation & Modifying Multiple Keyframes
Day 2:
Motion Graph, Expressions, Expressions vs. Parenting, Using Expression Controls, Copying Expression Codes & Puppet Tool
After Effects Series Level 4 (6 hours)
Day 1:
Keying, Working with 3D Layers, Animating in 3D, Collapsing Transformations & Controlling a Camera
Day 2:
Adding Lighting & Using Nulls to Control 3D Movement
