C2 Graphics Productivity Solutions, a business that trains professionals in computer graphics and places people in jobs in the field, began working with Community High last spring, arranging for some of the same people whom it places in business settings to work, sometimes on a daily basis, with students. C2 co-owner Erica Conway was chosen as one of the Business Journal's 40 under 40 for 2008. “For evidence of Erica Conway’s Adventurous personality, look no further than her Magic 8-ball collection, which includes a pink “dating” ball with witty, romantic sayings.” Click here for the full article.
Jim Conway Speaks to NYC InDesign User Group	courtesy: New York City InDesign User Group
On April 24, 2008 C2 co-owner Jim Conway traveled to New York City to present to the InDesign User Group at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Jim gave an introduction to web design for print designers. By showing direct parallels between designing for print and designing for the web, Jim helped demystify web layout for many in the group. Toward the end of his presentation, he paid special attention to the current problems of migrating an InDesign layout directly to the web using Adobe’s existing cross-media technology.
Fritz Wins InDesign Contest
Congratulations goes out to C2 Instructor James Fritz, who recently won the InDesignSecrets.com Quizzler contest for “How many ways can you add a CMYK Swatch to your document without opening up the Swatch’s panel itself?” Fritz submitted over 200 ways to import a swatch (76 were accepted) which brought ribbing from hosts Anne-Marie Concepcion and David Blatner. Kevin Attends Adobe Summit
In May 2008, C2 Instructor Kevin Stohlmeyer attended the 2008 Adobe Community Summit, where Adobe product managers and evangelists showcased upcoming technology and product releases from the company. Kevin presented advances in Adobe’s digital workflow and current product enhancements at C2's 100% Fresh Event, held in July.
