So you download your photos only to find that your camera has given you a bunch of “soft” images. Not blurry, but not that crisp sharpness that you were expecting. What can you do?
WAIT! Do not reach for that “Sharpen” filter menu!
Turn the background into a smart object (right click on the layer and choose “Convert to Smart Object”) and then run Filter>Other>High Pass. Run the setting around 10px and then turn the Smart filter blending mode to overlay.
You can adjust the effect by double-clicking on the smart filter. This adds some great sharpening to your photo and as a bonus it totally non-destructive!
